Starting to build my sculptures
After seeing some of Istvan Orosz's piece, I was inspired to try and make something similar. Not quite the same of course but I tried using curved mirrors, tin foil, chrome, steel spherical shaped objects. I tried wrapping some footballs, tennis balls, all sorts in tin foil because I wanted to show how the reflection in the tin foil is warped and distorted compared to a perfectly straight mirror. I also got some metallic paper plates for their warped reflection like the tin foil.

Anamorphic Drawings
During my research on warped objects I came across a Hungarian Illustrator, Istvan Orosz, his images contain hidden anamorphic images inside an incredibly complex picture viewable with the naked eye.

Sculpture
So we got our brief for sculpture, which is basically about our five senses and our vital signs. We all did our mins maps with random words connected to each sign.... I got attached to the word warp so I did some research on it.

My neon tree :D
I found this website online and did my own little tree. I also recorded some videos on my phone of this actually happening. I'll do my best to upload onto this :)
Roots growing from my kitchen ceiling
I made big chunky roots out of chicken wire and recycled material. Since they are such large scale I decided to make it at home and do what I wanted of it at home.
I put it up on top of our presses and our fridge and even out of one of our drawers.
It was extremely difficult to make because of the chicken wire. It is deadly on the hands. :( So if I got the chance to re do this piece I would re think the chicken wire!!! :/
My toilet rolls. :P
So my plan to collect as much toilet paper roll as possible over the past few weeks. No I'm not crazy for doing this!! When I felt I had enough I got A0 brown paper and drew the outline I was looking for. I began by twisting each piece of cardboard to give a rough look. So I started gluing them down in place and this is my result. A whole load of twisted cardboard that resembles a tree. :)
