Clutter Project
So we were given a brief as a one day project. It was based on clutter. Picking your subject matter you had to take into consideration the composition, the lighting, spacing, and more.

Drypoint.
I got a small cut off of asitate and etched the front of my high top, the lace part. Then I printed it in black and again in a browny, red on the same sheet of card.
With my other big sheet of asitate I etched out the same composition as I used for the imprint monoprint.
For the second one I used a yellow back ground but the black didn't turn out so well on top.

MORE PRIIINT!!!
I enlarged one of my smaller drawings so I could do a full sized print of my high tops. I printed red ink onto my asitate and started making marks with my pencil. After printing it I used what was left on the asitate and got some white spirits and whiped away some parts.
I did the same thing but with different inks. Orange and black.
Print Elective
So I started my third elective this week. PRINT. :D
Our brief is about defining our spaces, like what's around us or our environment. I decided to do my shoes. High tops to be exact. I LOVE my high tops so much so why not use them in my print brief. Perfect. :)
Yesterday morning I went straight to the print room, did some sketches of my shoes in different compositions and decided to make a bit of a collage to begin. I used the imprint monoprinting technique and the I printed what was left on the piece of asitate onto some card.

Warm and Cool tones
Today we started using warm and cool tones, using complimentary colours. Blue and orange, yellow and purple, and red and green. For my first go I decided to use blue abd orange. So firstly I mixed up my swatches to get a good range for each. drew up some thumbnails and away I went.

Card Painting
We also did some painting with credit cards. This was harder then it looked :/ I found the palette knife a lot easier to handle and control.
Blind Painting
So for this exercise we had to get our primart colours... Look at our instalations and just paint their shape. But without looking at your page once. This is to loosen up your arm and shoulder for a free painting.

Since I missed my first week of painting.. :( ... My first painting for my elective was of Lucian Freud. I picked his self portrait, it was a struggle but I really enjoyed it. :)

Starting to build my sculptures
After seeing some of Istvan Orosz's piece, I was inspired to try and make something similar. Not quite the same of course but I tried using curved mirrors, tin foil, chrome, steel spherical shaped objects. I tried wrapping some footballs, tennis balls, all sorts in tin foil because I wanted to show how the reflection in the tin foil is warped and distorted compared to a perfectly straight mirror. I also got some metallic paper plates for their warped reflection like the tin foil.
